OpenAI publishes global data on how people use ChatGPT
OpenAI published country-by-country ChatGPT usage data on August 6, arguing that AI use is shifting from asking questions toward getting work done.
The report says workplace users are more than twice as likely to use ChatGPT to complete a task or create something than they are outside work. OpenAI also points to rising multimedia usage and growing adoption among people over 35.
The useful discussion here is whether "AI adoption" should be measured by logins and messages, or by delegated work completed. The latter is harder to measure, but probably closer to the economic impact everyone is trying to understand.
